Dear Friends: This one sentence best sums up the Constitutional Crisis that we face today.

I'm telling my government that you've forgotten your place.

From Beldin's post about the IRS:
http://spectator.org/who-will-hold-the-irs-accountable/ (excerpt)

But the memorable cri de coeur of Becky Gerritson from Alabama's Wetumpka Tea Party in 2013 - which foreshadowed the rise of Trumpian nationalism - got to the real issue, the left-wing tyranny that masquerades as "good government";;

In Wetumpka, we are patriotic Americans; we peacefully assemble; we petition our government; we exercise our right to free speech. We don't understand why the government tried to stop us. I'm not here as a serf or a vassal. I'm not begging my lord for mercy. I'm a born-free American woman, wife, mother, and citizen, and I'm telling my government that you've forgotten your place.

----------------------
The objections that have been voiced here are basically twofold:

1. That the Constitution is perfectly fine, and understandable, as it is - it just needs to be followed.

2. That a Constitutional Convention could do more harm than good.

Articles and resources, scant as my posting have been, have addressed both these arguments, from both sides.

In summary:
1. Yes - IT WAS PERFECTLY FINE. It is NOT being followed, and WILL NOT BE FOLLOWED. The Central Government is NOT BALANCED any longer - our 'triumvirate' version of Constitutionally balanced government has been destroyed - replaced by a five headed hydra of epoch powers. Executive, Legislative, Judicial ... bureaucracy and 'intelligence'.

The NSA and other US agencies intelligence agencies 'spying' on U.S.A. citizen's (without warrants), a single judge on the West Coast over-ruling both Congress and the Executive Branch, IRS, EPA, State Department, the 'Deep State' (highly embedded bureaucrats not answerable to any legal bodies forming an inside government that actually controls our country).

2. Run-away Convention - just not possible, currently, with the requirement that 38 states are needed for ratification. The power of the STATES, which is what the REPUBLIC protection provides, is still available, but may not be for much longer.

------------------------

Is it possible to Restore a CONSTITUTIONAL U.S.A. federal government through reforms ?

Your honest assessment; bottom line you realize this is not possible.

The hydra will not cut off its own heads - too much power has already been seized - and will never be voluntarily, or legislatively, restored - if that legislation originates within itself, and is only enforced within itself. This central government has already demonstrated that any and all reform measures are only temporary stopgaps that are easily discarded and ignored.

----------------
THUS: STRUCTURAL CHANGES TO OUR GOVERNMENT MUST HAPPEN.

Most of the proposals for amendments to the Constitution, even coming from a Constitutional Convention, do little, if anything, to address the root problems of a power that has become unanswerable to anything except itself. They address symptoms, such as an unbalanced budget, and assume that if one addresses enough symptoms, then the disease will be cured.

That is folly.

There must be STRUCTURAL CHANGES, basic changes to bring about fundamental change.

That fundamental change must be a stripping of powers FROM the central government, and returning that power back to us, we the people from whom those powers originate.

Because, in the course of human events, it has become necessary.

Short of violent, armed revolution, we have only one CONSTITUTIONAL REMEDY that can accomplish this goal of restructuring.

You know what that remedy is; The Fifth Article of the Constitution, and the TENTH AMENDMENT to the Constitution, without which the Constitution would never have been accepted -

A JUST AND PROPER USE OF THE POWERS OF THESE STATES to be the ULTIMATE AUTHORITY on how a central, federal government functions.

That just and proper use of our authority resides solely in the power of a
CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION.
