The 1911 refers to the STYLE of the handgun and is produced by almost all the gun manufacturers.
It is a FULL SIZE, rather large hand gun.
The ones I showed Zim should be easier to HOLD, fire and control. Still will do the job intended which is defend and protect by stopping dead in their tracks ANYTHING walking on two legs that has invaded your home.
The 1911 is great for taking to the shooting club and having competitions with. I won one. I do not carry it. My Smith and Wesson M&P 9 Compact is perfect for carry. HOlds plenty of ammo, can get a good grip on it with three fingers and it fires smoothly. NOT TOO big to carry either. Right there about as large as you really want to go.
My Sturm Ruger is a P95 full size 9mm that holds 17 rounds. Very smooth firing with very little recoil. Deadly accurate. I put entire clip patterns into TORSO area of targets from 25 - 30 yards ... So I know it is on target and will stop any wannabe punks thinking they will threaten my family members.
I think people should have a carry weapon, a full size like my Ruger, and a special one like the 1911.
You should have a couple of rifles with scopes and at least one shotgun. Preferably a 12 gauge.
However, ZIM is just looking into possibly getting some home protection and the prices on the first couple items I showed are very good and a good quality entry point for home and self defense.... Not breaking the bank .
