Zim,

Nuclear is slightly more expensive than coal? LOL! You really need to do a total cost analysis, that is, add in the costs government pays, including R&D, insurance, disasters. We have narrowly averted many, but haven't been hit with a terrorist attack, cyber attack, natural disaster that cuts of electric and cooling, yet. Ask Fukushima about it. Then there's the cost of waste and supposedly transporting it around the country to a waste facility in some unfortunate state whose water supply will be destroyed, eventually. Of course we're all getting cancer as it is. And we're handing nukes to third world enemies with these plants.

The cost is too high.

It is 24 / 7 reliable electricity.
No carbon emissions.
The cost is slightly higher than coal.

Yes, the 'Atomic Energy Commission' needs to be anal
about using splitting atoms safely and 'We' need to
keep nukes out of the hands of A-rabs and half witted
despots.

But if you want a whole lot of watts in a relatively
small package a nuclear power plant does well at delivering.

Zim.
