Like you, I can count on my hand the number of good friends I have had in my lifetime. ALL have died except one.

I have never made any good friends at work. I could not afford to do so. I am pretty much a loner during the week but my friends are at Church. We all have one important thing in common and that is our faith in Christ.

I am a social introvert and do not speak much normally. In business it is different and I have learned how to engage people in talks and discussions without fear.

But on a daily living world level, I actually speak very little and mostly I communicate through writing. Like Sunday School lessons and Sermons I prepare and then teach.

Study is my favorite thing and David Limbaugh is becoming one of my favorite authors on things of Faith. His perspective is refreshingly candid and his insights as an attorney are very interesting as well. He brings some newer viewpoints to some portions of scripture that I have not read as of yet and that is a Lot of reading...

I find it interesting that you and I have a few traits in common and we both share value in reading incessantly evenif we read different things....

This region of the country has 4 seasons that are distinct and also are not radical when they change. Winters here are mainly very moderate. A couple inches of snowfall in a season on average. Flurries yes. Accumulating large amnounts of snow is very rare.
Bitter cold is unusual as well.
Our spring through fall is very comfortable except for humidity in summertime. Only drawback... Occasional hot days in summer when it gets over 90 with high humidity.

But for most part, it is generally a decent climate.

Very affordable utilities and cost of living is also pretty low as well. State income tax is about 2 percent. No complaints.

And w don;t have crap all over the sidewalks and walkways of the city if one happens to go there.

I need to occasionally to get to Music Hall and a couple other places. Other than that I saty out of cincinnati.

I think Nemo would find this general area very accomodating except there are no mountains here. He would have to go to the Appalachians and that is abouta 3 hours aaway.... east.. and south in Kentucky.

Re: "We have moderate climate and four season."
Here I thought Nemo and I were the ones with moderate climates...

Gas has been $2.39/gallon in New Hampshire for some time. It's a little cheaper than that in some nearby parts of Vermont.

As a person who has done a lot of moving, I can tell you that it's not easy. Maybe the hardest part is losing friends and contacts. I'm a far cry from being a socialite, but I do miss not having pals that I can call up on short notice to go do things with or for help with a job. In retrospect, it occurs to me that all of my good friends were made via work or school. I don't really know how to meet people any other way...
