It doesn't matter if you like Jesse or agree with him. The point was, Jesse was an outsider and he beat them in an election. That enough should give us hope for Trumps election.

THERE'S HOPE! KEEP BELIEVING! FIGHTING THE MACHINE IS SUPPOSE TO BE TOUGH

In 1998, Ventura faced powerful foes and an establishment machine; Republican Norm Coleman, who is now a Jewish lobbyist, and Democrat Skip Humphrey, who is the son of U.S. Vice President Hubert Humphrey.

Like Trump, the Minnesota media and establishment went after Ventura HARD. The two-party system was sickened by Ventura's presence and Ventura had to fight to get into the debates.

The media was somewhat effective, in that I remember people were almost afraid to talk to each other in-person that they preferred Ventura. If you explained to someone you liked Ventura, then you might have been ridiculed for liking an "entertainment wrestler". The polls showed Ventura losing by a wide margin, EVEN ON ELECTION DAY!

On the final week before election, I remember co-workers kind of opening up and revealing to each other their choice for Governor. Everyone in the office wanted Ventura.

I then realized that Ventura might win and that the media was conspiring against us.

THE GOVERNOR WON AGAINST ALL ODDS because he had THE PEOPLE.

Here's Ventura talking about his encounter with the CIA, who wanted details on how he beat the two-party system:
