Thanks De. This is just interrupting my world in a meaingful way and I was told by Doc that yes, the recovery is painful. Really painful. So I guess I am apprehensive of the unknown. Don't really know why. I have had 8 other surgeries already. One would think I would have this down pat.

I guess its knowing what can happen if Doc somehow manages to not see one of the many nerves he has to past in order to get to the spine making a pathway for the tube (going in from my Side underneath rib cage) is like walking through a minefield.. That is pretty much how he described it.

SO I focus too much on the remote possibilities but I have to be aware that they exist.

Can't really help it because it is how this analytical brain of mine functions. I MAJOR on minutia too much ! lol!!

I do feel better this morning about it because I had a very rough night. I was JOLTED out of sleep multiple times and could find NO position to lay down and sleep on anything in this entire house, including my favorite recliner..

I guess strong enough pain killers will get me past that but have to use sparingly... We shall see.

T-Minus a day and 4 hours. (tomorrow at noon.)

I think it's because the experience was surreal... I couldn't quite believe it was really happening. But math also plays an enormous role in my life, and I knew the odds were very much in my favor. Hopefully the success rate with your surgeries is high as well. You haven't said!

As for the physical pain, I'm not afraid of pain. You shouldn't be either. It's how we know we're alive. Focus instead on how interesting the whole experience is. You'll wake up and, with the help of some incredibly skilled people, start recovering. Every day will be better than the one before - and certainly better than the ones you've been telling us about recently.

It's a good thing, micro. Look forward to it. You'll be fine.
