I mentioned that I didn't ever feel afraid and still don't fully understand why. I think it's because the experience was surreal... I couldn't quite believe it was really happening. But math also plays an enormous role in my life, and I knew the odds were very much in my favor. Hopefully the success rate with your surgeries is high as well. You haven't said!

As for the physical pain, I'm not afraid of pain. You shouldn't be either. It's how we know we're alive. Focus instead on how interesting the whole experience is. You'll wake up and, with the help of some incredibly skilled people, start recovering. Every day will be better than the one before - and certainly better than the ones you've been telling us about recently.

It's a good thing, micro. Look forward to it. You'll be fine.

28 if ya counts the two hours before I has to officially be at the hospital surgical department.. My goodness time goes by quickly..

I am hopeful this procedure will ultimately relieve most of my lower back pain, which would be really good, buy simultaneously a little edgy just thinking about what the surgeon is going to do. So I have a little aprehension of the unknown going on as time gets closer...

Excited to get the source of the crippling back pain taken care of and a little fearful of the process.

I guess this is like being afraid of the unknown...
I don't want to become a paralyzed person or a vegetable.

Hopefully apprehension of a major undertaking about to happen to oneself causes a little bit of consternation.

MAybe I am thinking about the recovery too much. Overactive mind....
