That's good news, but if it ends up with a he said-she said, then not much will be achieved and the GOP will install their man, and then the Dems will revisit it when they are elected.
A full and fair investigation now makes the 50-50 appearance less the case.
I appreciate that some feel this invites future use of this tactic to stop nominees of any sort.
But the result of not investigating fully makes the GOP senate look unjust and insensitive. It will also do damage to the authority of the Supreme Court, with now two right wing alleged sexual assaulters on the bench.
This really comes back to Mitch McConnell who poisoned the well with Garland and made the discussion of Supreme Court nominations so political/ contentious. And of course to Trump, who wants a justice who will protect him from the Mueller probe at any price.
