Sir Beldin,

You have stated in a most polished and well reasoned manner to article 17 imo. Bravo dear sir!

I am in complete agreement with your statement on that subject....
The liberal elite would love noting more than to chip away at and eliminate the Constitution and set up rule by the chosen few and they would set themselves up to be the chosen few...

EXCELLENT, well reasoned and written post on that subject.... BRAVO !!!
Thumbs Up

On today's edition of The Daily Daily Caller Podcast, it's a special show - a look at an unreported threat to our republic: the idea of proportional representation in the US Senate.

It may sound crazy, but there is a movement among the liberal elite to change the Constitution to have the number of senators from each state be based on that state's population, exactly the way the House of Representatives is set up now. Not only would this be insane, we should be going in the opposite direction. The 17th Amendment changed the way senators were elected - it went from them being selected by the legislators of the states to a popular vote election. This changed the Senate from the voice of the states in the federal government to a body based on the will of the people. Once this happened, the federal government expanded exponentially as Senators worried about appeasing and appealing to the masses rather than protecting the rights of the states. It's time to go back, repeal the 17th Amendment, and return to the idea what we are union of states, not a nation with concentrated power in Washington. After all, the states created the federal government, the federal government did not create the states.
