I've said before I think that creating a democratic support structure based on a series of minority groups' claims of victim status is a bad idea for the Dems.
In this election, I think there's a movement of a more healthy sort underlying the blue wave. That is, one that's a response to the Republican destruction of government (think teachers and healthcare, for instance) so that it can save money for the extremely wealthy few.
I think the fact that Kanye is rich is more pertinent than that he is black.
But there aren't enough plutocrats to go around, black and white.
By the way, csl, back when you were yourself, you had a reasonable point that large government invites corruption. I'd say that my own recent observation is that something else motivates corruption: the desire for wealth unmodified by other principles (like adherence to the law or the desire to protect the vulnerable). This administration is an ideal example of how that works. Heck, even the attorneys of these people have to take the fifth.
