So as a result of claiming the protection of the fifth amendment, we know that SDNY was seeking information of a criminal nature from Cohen and that Cohen is aware of the nature of that information. Now they will use that information to try to get him to flip.
No wonder Trump is trying as hard as possible to conceal the criminal information that has been taken by SDNY, and is floating the possibility of pardons. But pardons can be a form of obstruction, which will add to the case against Trump.
Ouch. He's in a helluva bind.
And that's before we even think about Mueller. Will Trump plead the fifth or step down to avoid the interview and hope to get a pardon from Pence?
