It was hot. It was a different time and where I was you didn't want to be. For that matter, I would have preferred NOT to be.
BUT, like my pal Ribit, I signed up and volunteered.
So I have no regrets or complaints.
Much like Stonewall Jackson. I believe that when it is my appointed time to die and go home, that will be when I go. I likely by human reasoning should have died multiple times but it was not my time appointed by my creator. So that is why I do not fear death.
Death to me is another word for promotion or graduation to a better eternal place prepared by my God as He promised.
That belief is what kept me sane and got me through my years of duty in that wonderful vacation spot called Nam. Ribs could likely describe it better as he is more fluent than I. Let's just say I am thrilled to be here, honored to be among some brother Marines, and eternally grateful for my Salvation through Christ.
