They are fortunate you are not a pistol toting hair trigger weapons owner.

Most places when strangers have entered your home and you have no idea who they are one automatically reaches for their home defense weapon of choice first.

Yeah, you need to have a talk with your realtor....

Really. Something along the lines of "if you don;t have personal confirmation from myself or my wife to bring prospective buyers over to see the house, you nor anyone else may enter my home.

Until it is sold, it IS still your home.... And your home is your safe place......

WoW!!!!! Iffen that was my jhouse those folks would have been staring down the barrel of a 12 gauge pump shotgun when I would say good morning, how do you like your lead pellets???

... Awoke this morning when my son yelled "Mom. Dad. There are people inside our house!"

Grrr. We were expressly told by the listing realtor that this would NOT happen. Appointments are required before anyone may enter.

The phone rang twice this morning (one ring each time) and no one was there. I assume that was the realtor and group of home shoppers my wife is now speaking with downstairs. Later, they just let themselves in.

We obviously need to post a sign on the front door. Perhaps something along the lines of:

THIS HOME IS OCCUPIED. YOU MAY ENTER ONLY WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE TENANT.

It turned out that our telephone service was malfunctioning and they'd tried to call. I still don't think they should be entering an occupied residence unannounced.
