Grrr. We were expressly told by the listing realtor that this would NOT happen. Appointments are required before anyone may enter.
The phone rang twice this morning (one ring each time) and no one was there. I assume that was the realtor and group of home shoppers my wife is now speaking with downstairs. Later, they just let themselves in.
We obviously need to post a sign on the front door. Perhaps something along the lines of:
THIS HOME IS OCCUPIED. YOU MAY ENTER ONLY WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE TENANT.
It turned out that our telephone service was malfunctioning and they'd tried to call. I still don't think they should be entering an occupied residence unannounced.
