Wiggs,
Yes, it matters not whether a nominee for a judge position is a Democrat or a Republican ... what truly matters is whether that nominee has a demonstrable history of honoring the primacy of The Constitution WITHOUT attempting to personally insert ... and then voila! ... "find" ... new, ephemeral meanings that do not exist in the literal statements found in the document, itself.
In general, it is all too true that the existence ... or lack, thereof ... of proper respect for The Constitution can be accurately discerned by the Republican and Democrat labels. But, even though leaders of the Democrat Party have demonstrably proven over the past 100 years that they despise The Constitution and its constant habit of clearly repudiating their anti-American, self-serving political whims, there ARE some (far more than I like to admit) Republican Party leaders who also show a consistently improper disdain for The Constitution, as well ... primarily for the same reason as Democrat Party leaders ... maybe not to the same overarching, extreme degree, but still ... because they believe themselves to be elites who know better than everyone else and should be allowed to "bless" the more provincial American people with their oh-so-superior "wisdom" without being constrained by the rule of law.
