The left cannot handle dissent and it especially cannot handle REASONED dissent.
I just had a discussion on Facebook yesterday about people who drop friends because of their political stance. I think it's pathetic. It's akin to burying one's head in the sand and hoping that problems will just go away. They rarely do. This is a huge character flaw.
This is the main reason I advocated removing the ban on clo and OCU from this board. Conservatives as a whole are NOT like the left. We aren't fearful or weak. We don't usually run away from problems.

Decomposed It is a very shallow person who would un-friend someone based on their having an opposing political view, but that has, in fact, happened to me this year. Better to find out that these people aren't very good friends now, though, than in the future when I actually have to count on them for something, wouldn't you agree?

Dale W Glenn R I unfriended someone this year because some of the things they said were obscene and violent! I had no idea they were like that until the election. I choose not to be friends with those types of people.
Decomposed Dale: "Obscene" is not the same as "dissenting." Obscene is far out of the mainstream. I've dropped people because they were excessively vulgar, and they were politically on MY side - so I understand. Today, however, I'm seeing a lot of Facebook (and other) friends being dropped simply because they are on the other side of the political spectrum and one of the two doesn't want to hear what the other has to say. Their attitude seems to be "You aren't a __________? Then you're vile and I'll unfriend you!" It's an unhealthy trend.
