...the wall isn't there to keep em out. It's there so they know where the border is. The landmines, the predator droned, the apache gunships and the snipers are there to keep em out.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

“You’re going to have a $25-billion wall and a $25 ladder and the ladder will triumph,” Rivera added.

He's right, of course. It's not hard use a rope ladder to scale a wall, whatever its height. Anyone can do it. Nor is it hard to tunnel under such a thing - unless the wall is built to go 30 feet into the earth. It's not even difficult to blow a chunk of it up and get through before the hole is noticed.

The wall - all 1,900 miles of it if it's going to protect the whole border - will have to be patrolled. That will be a huge, ongoing expense if it's done in the traditional way.

So, how about the non-traditional? I like the idea of internet-enabled security cameras, where the public can spot invaders and alert authorities. Or maybe automation can be used to detect breaches and ensure a quick capture of illegals. That will probably work better in some places than others. Obviously, an illegal who hops the wall and finds himself in miles of desert will have more trouble avoiding capture than another who jumps the fence and is immediately in a town.

Armed drones could QUICKLY and CHEAPLY solve the problem . . . but Americans don't have the stomach for that. Too bad. I like economical solutions and have no sympathy at all for those who would invade our country.

If you think that's too barbaric, then consider this:

If a white collar criminal escapes from a prison, he runs a real risk of being shot by the guards. We don't get upset about that. We don't call it 'too barbaric.' It's understood that criminals are dangers to our society and cannot be allowed to escape. Shooting them is deemed reasonable.

Well, those who hop our border wall are criminals too. We need to prevent them from getting away. If shooting them with a drone is the best way of accomplishing that, then I'm for it.

FNC’s Geraldo Rivera: ‘I Am Withdrawing My Opposition to the Wall’

by JEFF POOR
Breitbart.com

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” network personality Geraldo Rivera announced he was withdrawing his opposition to a border.

Rivera, who has had some heated dust-ups on O’Reilly’s show over the past decade on the issue of immigration, acknowledged that elections have consequences, therefore he doesn’t oppose the wall — despite thinking it was a waste of money.

“I’m going to shock you. I am withdrawing my opposition to the wall,” Rivera said. “No, listen, elections have consequences. This was his signature issue, and if the people want the wall, which I think is a waste of money.”

“Geraldo is down with the wall now,” O’Reilly replied. “And you know, I think you should have a piece full wall … sponsored by Geraldo. You could have your picture there.

“You’re going to have a $25-billion wall and a $25 ladder and the ladder will triumph,” Rivera added.
