Sens. John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Amy Klobuchar on Saturday joined Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko in a photograph taken at a Ukraine military base, where they traveled to wish the soldiers a happy new year.
The Ukraine president tweeted the photograph with McCain, R-Ariz.; Graham, R-SC; and Klobuchar, D-Minn.:
According to a Google translation of his tweet, the Ukrainian president said he "arrived at the command post in the area Shirokino [with] John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Amy Klobuchar to greet our soldiers a Happy New Year."
He also tweeted a video of himself speaking to base personnel, with the three senators standing with him and others at the event:
Translated, the tweet reads "with @ SenJohnMcCain , Lindsey Graham and Amy Klobuchar welcomed our military at the forefront of the New Year. Thank Ukrainian soldiers!"
Both McCain and Graham earlier this week called on the White House to take action concerning claims that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, reports The Hill.
McCain told Fox News that sanctions could be strengthened against Russia, including "giving defensive weapons to Ukraine so they can defend themselves." Graham has also often called for stronger sanctions and aid to Ukraine.
On Saturday, McCain reiterated his support for Ukraine, posting photos on Twitter of his own:

Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.
