The U.S. Army has chosen a New Hampshire arms maker to produce its new service pistol. Sig Sauer, Inc.'s P320 pistol will replace the long iconic M9 Beretta.
The Newington company announced Thursday that its polymer striker-fired sidearm would replace the M9 service pistol, which has been used by the U.S. Army for decades. The deal is reportedly worth $580 million.
One Army official praised the P320 as an advancement in firearms for servicemen and women.
