Sooo, after deleting the earlier thread, my son's friend posted the meme below - which I've already debunked. Churchill never said it. It's an internet lie. I'm sure the friend will remove it (or me) as soon as he sees that he's been 'CLAUDIA'ed.

Churchill DID say "The State owes it to itself to sustain and encourage [the arts]." That's quite different from funding them, especially since he then elaborated, "Ill fares the race which fails to salute the arts with the reverence and delight which are their due."

But ZILCH about funding or defunding the arts. If you're a liberal, why let a little thing like TRUTH stand in the way of a good story?

Yeah, yeah. Been there, done that (discussion). One of my son's friends is a Freshman at James Madison University. He's a music major. He was having a conniption fit today on FB over the possibility of Trump defunding the National Endowment of the Arts and my subsequent statement that the NEA should be defunded.

I'd post the conversation, but it seems the little snowflake has deleted the entire thing.

These people are unbelievable. What makes them like this? Cowardice? Embarrassment? I just don't know.
