...wifes tend to be doubting in advance and critical in arrears of husband persons auto work. One of them chrome strips on the side of mz ribits car came lose and I fixed it. A month later her transmission broke. She never had any trouble with it til after I worked on her car. Id rather pay an exhorbitant fee to a roadside pirate than listen to the biatching.

Yup.

I read online that car radiator replacement is considerd to be a two hour job (for a professional.) So that means that the $750 labor charge I'm facing is ridiculous.

HOWEVER, that's for a car. The van's radiator might be a little more difficult. It's definitely tight under that hood.

Anyway, what's done is done. I told the wife to go ahead, especially since the mechanic she found is just down the road from her office and she can get it done without my having to take any time off work. Mechanics are expensive, but so am I.
