re: "What is the make and year of the van?"

2005 Chrysler Town & Country.

We'll have a different mechanic check it out on Friday. If he agrees with the first, then I'll believe it. Until then, I'll just be a 'radiator change denier.'

The radiator was replaced less than three years ago. I find it VERY unlikely that it's gone south again. That just sounds like the kind of nonsense some mechanics will tell women to get them to overpay.

I'll post an update when I know more.

MEANWHILE...

re: "Get the repair Manual and do it yourself"

Not gonna happen. There are SO many things I'd rather do than replace a radiator - including being at work, which should tell you how much I enjoy auto work.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

New rads are cheap DE around $130, Get the repair Manual and do it yourself, just don't be intimidated with it, Just take it step by step. I'm learning so much doing this now........

What is the make and year of the van?

I mentioned warped head cause you said she kept driving till it was out of water and got hot........
