New rads are cheap DE around $130, Get the repair Manual and do it yourself, just don't be intimidated with it, Just take it step by step. I'm learning so much doing this now........

What is the make and year of the van?

I mentioned warped head cause you said she kept driving till it was out of water and got hot........

Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.

There's a pretty obvious drip on the driver's side of the radiator. I don't see anything dripping elsewhere - which is why the water pump was far from my mind when we asked for a diagnosis. Radiator or hose. Radiator or hose. Not the #$@!ing water pump and definitely not two grand!
