That is an excellent point that a lot of people should be reminded of.

Those who have never run companies who must compete against others in their same marketing group of products do not understand that added costs simply cannot just be passed on in price increases to the customers OR you will run the risk and likelihood of losing a customer who will just buy that same product for less from your competitor.

SO, yes, while many here likely know that, and some here like me know it personally and experienced it, it is a very good point worthy to be reminded of....

The falsehood that every company has a gold mine or oil well underneath it that it can fall back on is utterly false and promulgated by the leftwing lunacy loons.

OBAMACARE was a nightmare for many business owners. It remains a nightmare. Forced higher wages is a nightmare. That is why so many small businesses were forced to close their doors. Not because the owner wanted to. He had no choice.

So, good point. Sometimes we simply overlook what should be evident.....

re: "...while I am sure that everyone wants to make more money, when the government makes it mandatory it is nothing more than a tax designed to redistribute income."

In truth, it is a prohibition against hiring people with minimal skills. No intelligent businessman is going to pay his staff more than they are worth. Doing so will shut him down.

As the article says, SOME businesses can offset increased payroll costs with higher prices, but not all can do that. Some have to compete with others that are out-of-state and have cheaper labor. For these companies, price increases on the end-product will result in a product that's no longer competitive.

I'm preaching to the choir, I know. It's the Triple Farters who don't understand.
