Nemo,

There are some real dirtbags out there, that's for sure. My sister-in-law was married to a marine with equally low morals. I also recently read the paperwork my father wrote in the 1960s when he sent one of his "boys" to the brig, so I know military slimeballs DO exist.

Your experience reminds me of something that happened to me in California, involving a computer I bought at a garage sale. I asked the woman there if she knew what was wrong with it. It was too cheap, so I knew it wouldn't be working. She said she didn't know. I decided that, regardless of the problem, the salvage value of the other parts made it a worthwhile purchase. When I got it home, would you believe that EVERY component in that machine was bad? That is, the motherboard, the power supply, the hard drive, the floppy drive, the network card, the CD drive and the memory. The whole thing was pieced together from broken parts. And they had the nerve to sell it without telling me what they'd done! They're lucky I didn't come back and put a brick through their window. Believe me, the thought crossed my mind - but I think I'd already forgotten where it was. (Back then, when I went to garage sales, I made a day of it.)

I learned my lesson cheap. I think I was scammed for less than fifty dollars. Yours is far worse. I'm sorry about that.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

This van I bought from this X service man , who said I'm not here to scam anyone, when I was asking all the questions I was asking, WELL He lied his ass off. The van needs a computer, windshield , which I couldn't see for all the snow on it, the front fan control only has high, its a replacement of a rectifier tucked waaaaay back in the dash, and various other things.

I asked him 4 times DOES EVERYTHING work. Of course they did. Anyway what he did is, he has a 1999 dodge caravan, one I bought is a 2003. Well low and behold his 1999 computer is in my 2003, It would not start. I bought a $300 OBD-ll scanner that showed me what he did, Part number. It said COMMUNICATION PROBLEM WITH THE ecm. that WAS THE PLUGS TO IT HE DIDN'T PUSH IN ALL THE WAY WHEN HE SWAPPED THEM OUT. i GOT my van running but it would start then stop, did this several times, then it wouldn't crank at all. To make this simple I will post what an EXPERT from answers . com said..

***********************************************************

The Sentry Key Immobilizer system works by allowing the engine to start, and then shutting power off to the fuel injectors to kill the engine. It will do this a few times and then it would lock the starter out so the engine wouldn't crank at all. If there is a loss of fuel pressure it wouldn't be related to the SKIM security system. If the fuel pump has power and ground but won't run to build fuel pressure then the pump will need to be replaced. Assuringly they have checked for power and ground at the pump, if not they should before replacing it.

*******************************************************

It has to do with the security system, arggggggggggggg. Anyway this X service man has no morals , no conscience, or values. He got an "offerup" reply and choice voice mail on his phone, letting him know the POS is is....... All part of this game but I expected better from him/service man......
