I have known several folks to pass away while or shortly after talking aloud to someone who has gone on ahead. My mother's last words were "...wait for me papa!". That's what she called her daddy. Gives me some comfort.

Thanks all.
A very long night yesterday.
She is hanging on by a thread. Breathing rapidly and shallow. The nurses tell us that she will pass today yet.

Her mother is a basket case. Cannot blame her. Her daughter who just graduated high school this past year will be living with her grandma.

Very sad to watch. She has dwindled down to about 70 pounds and is mostly skin over bone. She is ready to go.

The grief is always with the ones that remain here.

We heard her say "not yet dad". Her dad died two years ago. He was in Nam. Spec 4 army.

Good guy. Loved his kids and played with them a lot. Great father. He is there waiting for her. Will be a great re-union.

Meanwhile my daughter and her husband and the other first cousins are all bedside.. This is a close family. This is going to hurt.

I hope my wife's sister does not lose it when this happens. I cannot imagine having to bury a child.

Especially two years after burying your husband of 42 years.

Keep our family in your prayers please. Tonight will be a long night of mourning I am sure.

Like my brother Ribit, this marine must stand tall and be there for the others, even though it will bother me as well. I watched her from a baby up to now. She and my girls played together.

I hope her BOYS, one 19 and the other 21, will come through this okay as well as her daughter.

Off to the Hospital here in about half an hour.

Hold down the fort and say a prayer for Sherrie that the angels will wing her flight home to her dad and be with the Lord...

Thanks much everyone.
