A summary of the evidence so far:-
The accusation that Russia is behind the leak of Podesta and DNC emails/data stems from “unnamed intelligence sources” relayed “by unnamed government officials”. No hard evidence has been presented to back up the claim. Nobody wants to put their name to the claim. The claim seems to be being pushed by the CIA, with James Clapper (DNI) and the FBI seeming to distance themselves from the claims of John Brennan (CIA Director).
All the multitude of media reports repeating this claim, based on zero reported evidence are meaningless. The entire media en-masse also repeated the obvious Bush/Cheney lies on Saddam’s non existent WMD’s in 2002.
On the converse, that it was NOT a Russian hack:-
These are the best articles I have seen that it was NOT a Russian hack, but that they were leaks from a disgruntled DNC insider who was unhappy about the DNC rigging the primaries against Sanders and that the Podesta leak was sourced from data captured by the NSA and given to Craig Murray in Washington DC by a disgruntled US intelligence agent.

In the above article, William Binney 36 year senior NSA vet, points out that no evidence has been presented of any data from the DNC or Podesta being electronically removed from the United States via a hack. The NSA would have evidence of such a hack if it had occurred. The trace of a previous incident was traced back to a building in China, but no evidence of this latest alleged hack has been provided.
The Russians have asked the US to present any evidence they have on the alleged hack, or to stop making baseless accusations.
Given the above evidence Obama’s threat of “retaliation” against Russia, which is a nuclear power, on the basis of what seems to be baseless evidence free lies, is indeed RECKLESS.
Obama should put up or shut up and if he can’t “put up” he should stop increasing international tensions in order to play domestic politics for the benefit of the Neocons, to a gullible American public.
The whole “blaming Russian” thing as the source of the leaks has been an attempt, from July, at deflecting attention from the CONTENTS of the leaks.
The leaks revealed the conspiracy to rig the primaries against Sanders by the DNC (which led to 4+ senior resignations/firings).
They confirmed the Clinton Foundation corruption, via Teneo and Doug Band, and pay to play / pay for access with foreign donors.
And they confirmed the conspiracy to hack the election between the “liberal” media, John Podesta and Hillary Clinton cronies by planting multiple stories in the mass media by tame so called “journalists”, feeding debate questions to Hillary beforehand etc.
