The political environments at the state level are more corrupt than at the federal level? No ... while it is true that any government can become corrupt ... the federal government is just as, if not more so, corrupt than any other government entities in this country. It is simply easier for the federal government to hide its corruption than it is for state governments, IMHO. State governments are closer to the people, if you will, than the federal government ... and, as such, are easier for the voters to remedy, if needed. If a state's citizens do not like the senators picked by their legislature, then they can vote to change out their state legislators - legislators who cannot run away to Washington, D.C. to hide away from the voters. With the advent of the 17th Amendment, the federal government has contemptuously ignored the 10th Amendment and run roughshod over the states.
