Wow. The mainstream press continues to report on the disunity in the country while declining to talk about the role it has played and continues to play in worsening the situation.
Unfortunately, our problems will continue to grow, getting MUCH worse until they come to a head - the "collapse" I've been dreading but discussing for 15 years.
Collapse could take many forms, and your guess is as good as mine for what the form will be. I don't think there will be a peaceful secession of any state - such as what Britain is trying to do with the EU. Our states are far more intertwined with each other and the country as a whole than Britain is with the rest of Europe. For instance, which state could possibly secede without screwing over hundreds of thousands who don't want secession? Alaska? Rhode Island? I don't think so.
I could see a civil war erupting. Maybe a race war. A military coup. A dictatorship. I could see World War, maybe even World-ENDING War.
