Don't blame your brother one bit, Decomp. Government meddling like price controls and minimum wage NEVER work as intended and ALWAYS make things much worse. The sad thing is that most Democrats know this is the absolute, undeniable truth - BUT, they feel it is more important to play the part of clueless Progressives than to support market-based policies that will actually benefit the country and its citizens.

California has been spiraling down in a tailspin for a long time, now. When it crashes, it will be spectacular in scope. My only hope is that, when it finally happens, the federal government does not try to make the rest of us pay for California's mindless self-destruction. If those morons in California are hell-bent to turn their state into the next Venezuela, so be it - let that disaster be on their own heads. Any Californian with half-a-brain will be looking to leave that imbecilic morass at their earliest convenience.

Beldin,

re: "... if the minimum wage does get pushed up to $15 per hour"

If the minimum wage gets pushed up to $15, prices will soar. Those who are unemployed, those who support family, those who are living off of welfare, Social Security or pensions will struggle.

Once again, this is wealth transference, but with the added bonus of bankrupting businesses and making many people utterly unemployable.

My brother's business has been very lucrative. But thanks to California's minimum wage increases, he will be out of business in three years. So he, his company and about 35 jobs are leaving California.

Smart people, these Progressives.
