sometimes, all a router and a modem need is a simple reset.
You can accomplish this a couple ways, but one is to just pull the power plug out of it and let it sit for a couple minutes.
Normally one's incoming cable for internet service goes into a modem. If ya wanted a wireless router and did not wish to rent one from the cable company and pay for it monthly, you could buy a decent one for under $35.00 and go that route.
You simply run the cable from th back of the modem to the WAN port on the router. Then if you wish to connect your computer directly to the wireless router all ya does is to run a cable from any of the open ports on back of router and connect it to the computer.
I actually purchased my own MODEM with VOIP and internet instead of renting it monthly from Time Warner. I have a cable going from it to my wireless router which provides a strong network throughout my house and have a cable from the router to the back of the desktop computer.
I like TP Link products. Simple, cost effective, and they work....
EASY to set up and inexpensive to buy....
Glad ya got it going again there ribit.
Many times all ya needs is a reset just like every once in a while yer computer needs to be re-booted.
Nice job De on the manual !
