Wanna save the planet from the global warming boogey-man? First, open Yucca Mountain. Second, move the spent fuel rods into Yucca Mountain. Third, build a nuclear fuel rod reprocessing plant inside Yucca Mountain. Fourth, make low interest loans to very large power companies who can and will pay the money back (take note of the concept - one should not 'loan' money to folks who can't or won't pay it back) for the express purpose of building new nuclear power plants. Build the new nukes, then retire the coal fired power plants. Lots and Lots of non-carbon emitting electricity. (Next comes how to reduce the need to pump oil out of the ground . . . followed by how to remove CO2 from the air. I do have ideas.) Josh.
