I never did expect Trump to keep his campaign promises. But he's not a politician. I like that. The Republican establishment really hate him. I like that. He's not Hillary. Hey, what more could anybody ask?
Already, it appears that Trump is backing down on prosecuting Hillary, backing down on repealing Obamacare, bringing lots of Washington insiders into his administration and acknowledging that humans may have something to do with climate change. Think he would have told America that those things prior to November 8th? Of course not. So his honesty comes into question at this point, if not his integrity and sincerity.
I've always said that Trump is no conservative. That's still true. But if he cleans house in D.C. and in the Republican Party, he still might be a good President. He could be great if he puts conservatives into the Supreme Court (and I'm not going to hold my breath on that. Remember that Bush I nominated David Suiter, and Bush II nominated Roberts.) And if he lowers taxes, he might even extend our economy and keep the Titanic afloat for a few additional years.
The United States is doomed no matter who gets elected. Nobody can stop this country from collapsing. Not Hillary Clinton. Not Donald Trump. Not Ron Paul. The debt (around $225 trillion) is REAL and can't just be wished away. It will sink us, but the likelihood of going down to the oligarchs and communists is now somewhat reduced. Nicely done, President Trump.
