I heard the first three of these on the Rush Limbaugh show a few minutes ago. The fourth is being widely reported. In the coming weeks, Democrats will:
o Push for Obama to appoint a Supreme Court justice and bypass Congress, arguing that Congress has not acted in a timely fashion and that he can therefore do this. (No, there's nothing in the Constitution that so much as implies he could do that. But why get bogged down in the details?)
o Argue that a Supreme Court that's eight strong is fine. No need to appoint a ninth.
o Argue that the concept of "States" is obsolete and should be eliminated.
And, of course:
o Barbara Boxer says she will be introducing a bill to eliminate the Electoral College - even though she knows full well that HER SIDE will never let it happen. (As insurance, she will add some provision to it that makes the idea totally unacceptable to the majority of Congress and the majority of states that might be ratifying it. Her goal isn't to eliminate the Electoral College, but to further the idea that the College is the only reason Trump was elected, implying that his Presidency isn't really legit.)
