I suspect what he is talking about here, is a small
round device. And, one has two pieces of electrical wire
that need to be connected together such that electricity
can flow through the wires. One would then strip back
the insulation off the two pieces of wire, insert
the copper parts into the device, then crush it down
on the wires with a crimping too. Effectively
(electrically speaking) turning the two pieces of wire
into one.
