Sounds like it might
be that particular program. Some programs have been
known to do things like that. Any chance the sound
problem began right after installing that program?
If I had a problem like this one . . .
First thing I would do is make certain that I had
backed up all important files. Then, if feasible,
clone the hard drive to a new one. Then try a
'system restore' to a date before installing that
program. If the sound and the ports work after the
system restore then the program was almost certainly
the problem (or something from the internet infested
the computer . . .)
But backing up your most important files is the single most important thing to do.
USB sticks are relatively cheap these days and they do
work well for this purpose.

crazy I found the prob but not what caused it. I went to print aND THE PRINTER DIDNT WORK i UNINSTALLED SODTWARE AND PUT BACK ON AND IT SAID IT WAS WAITING FOR ME TO TURN ON THE PRINTER. wELL IT WAS ON, i SWITCHED USB PORTS AND IT WORKS. sOMETHING KILLED THAT PORT ON THIS new COMPUTER WHICH IN TURN AFFECTED MY SOUND PORTS. no idea HOW THAT HAPPENED, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM damn cap lock.......
