Well . . .
Normally, when it floods I'll sometimes go kayaking
down the street. This time it flooded so bad I started
kayaking in my back yard.
(The boat had blown off the camper shell. I had to wade across my back yard and fetch it back out of the corner. Then I dumped the water out of it, fetched
the paddle, and paddled across the yard, out the gate, and then out and down the street.)
There is water on the floorboards inside my truck.
The water was up over the tail pipe of the truck.
It has been sitting in my driveway since yesterday.
I just hope it wasn't damaged.
The intersection in front of my house currently has
three stalled out cars 'drifting' out there. (Water
up to the hood on the two smaller ones.)
Rosemont Road, around the corner from my house, has
a lot of stalled out cars stuck in the water.
I think the TV said the hurricane is now moving due
East out to sea . . the rain looks like it might be
stopping soon and, hopefully, the water will FINALLY
drain off and I'll be able to see just how bad my
truck is.
