About what I expected: One big Trump bash.
SNL acknowledged a while back that its audience doesn't think it's funny to ridicule the Democrats so they don't do it. It's pretty messed up.
SNL Creator Confirms Democrats Can't Take a Joke

Lorne Michaels tells New York Magaizine that Democrats "tend to take it personally" when Saturday Night Live pokes fun at them, while "Republicans think it's funny:"
Republicans are easier for us than Democrats. Democrats tend to take it personally; Republicans think it’s funny. But we’re not sitting here every week going, “We’ve really got to do the First Family.” This week, our cold open is about three big stories. We have Piers Morgan interviewing A-Rod, Chris Christie, and Justin Bieber. We’re doing more of that kind of thing than stuff about Benghazi or the new budget agreement. The country has lost interest in it. I can’t tell you why. It’s no less important, but in some way you can’t do health care more than twice, at which point there’s just nothing left. But Jay Pharoah does a really good Obama.
That's odd--the only time Saturday Night Live actually did touch on Benghazi was to make fun of that terrible 60 Minutes report. We can't recall any skit in which the Obama Administration's incompetence and outright dishonesty was ever really mentioned.
Then again, we haven't watched SNL since Dana Carvey left!
Michaels is absolutely correct, though, as Republicans have learned over the decades and decades of being punchlines to simply roll with the punches laugh along at their foibles.
Democrats, however, simply aren't used to being made fun of, and one would expect them to therefore be more easily offended.
Think about it--when is the last time anyone besides Jay Leno really, really laid into the Democratic Party, any Democratic politician, or liberal policies in general?
Sure, Jon Stewart might occasionally needle the Obama Administration's incompetence, but NewsBusters noted that last month he spent 10 times more time making fun of Republicans than Democrats:
The Daily Show aired 11 full segments that targeted conservatives or Republicans. Only one segment mocked President Obama – from the left – over his speech on the NSA spying program. Four segments mocked both conservatives/Republicans and Democrats/liberals.
Overall, the segments targeting Republicans and conservatives totaled just under 82 minutes; the lone segment on Obama lasted 7 minutes, 46 seconds.
Stewart's protege, Stephen Colbert, focuses his entire show on satirizing conservative pundits like Bill O'Reilly.
When is the last time anyone did a send-up of Rachel Maddow or Ed Schultz? Granted, they are already pretty terrific caricatures of themselves, but still, one has to wonder why no comedian seems to want to aim at these tempting targets.
Given that liberals just aren't used to being laughed at, it's natural that they would bristle at any ridicule...which is ironic, because their policy positions are, in fact, ridiculous.
That's why it's so important to ridicule both liberal policies and liberal politicians; because it effectively exposes them as the objects of ridicule they really are.
That's also, by the way, why most all comedians won't do it.
