I must admit, I did not know know even though I have heard the name mentioned before. Mostly because I didn't care about what goes on in Syria or the mess over there.

So, there you have it. I agree with your observation.

Beyond that, imo, Gary Johnson is a whack job trying to pose as some sort of libertarian yet the things that come out of his mouth are anything but libertarian much less Constitutional.

In my own opinion, I think he is yet another just trying to divide up the vote much as Ross Perot did and hand the jackass party a win.

While I agree this election is between which candidate is less worse than the other, and plenty of candidates in my view were eliminated in the primary by a populist message, I personally view this as a sad state of affairs for the office of President of the United States and an extension of the continuing demise of what was once a great land of promise and hope and a dream where everyone could aspire to their own level of success by their own industriousness. (Ben Franklin)

I think your point is spot on. Very good observation sir!!!

The NYT knows about as much, apparently:

Correction: September 8, 2016

An earlier version of this article misidentified the de facto capital of the Islamic State. It is Raqqa, in northern Syria, not Aleppo.

Correction: September 8, 2016

An earlier version of the above correction misidentified the Syrian capital as Aleppo. It is Damascus.

It would be interesting to know the percentage of the general population now making fun of him who knew, before they started making fun of him. 12%?
