Lucas Oil Products are very good. They will quiet noisy rods and worn out motors.
I think after you drained the "motor honey" you should have considered just buyying a bottle of engine flush and get all the residue of that crap out of the engine.
I good High Mileage motor oil with some LUCAS additive would make that quiet and sweet again. Of course, if the oil pump went bad, that had to be replaced as well.
Start with a CLEAN inner engine and then add your own additives and things should work a little smoother fer ya!
Good job though seriously on getting yer hands dirty and getting it sold, hopefully for a profit...
