...there is no amount of money so small nor so tax payer so pitiful that the govt would show the slightest hesitation in taking it. That said, I have read articles about imputed income they want to tax. For example if you own a house and that house is paid for and you could rent that house for $1000.00 per month but are living in it yourself, they want to tax the money you are saving by owning your own home as ordinary income.

Another diabolical plot is in regard to ya healthcare. If you have insurance and get some horrendous disease and your insurance company pays out $100,000 or so on ya, they want to tax that as ordinary income as well.

The second idea was proposed by hillary back when bill was the first black president.

This points out one of the cornerstones of my
non-401K investments.

The belief that lying thieving politicians would,
by hook or by crook, stick their sticky fingers
into my retirement funds.

(Having investments that are not even remotely
considered IRA or 401K will, hopefully, shield
me from some of the thieving.)

Has anyone else heard anything about brokerage
sweep accounts being required to hold treasury
notes?

And, how about efforts to force money market accounts
to 'float'. (As in they MUST reflect the value of
the underlying assets - instead of attempting to
remain at one dollar a share.)

Zim.
