I don't think Cruz was ever electable, simply because he lacks the right look. But that's just opinion.
I doubt last night will hurt him. If Trump wins and becomes President, then 2020 is probably not in the cards for Cruz anyway. And if Trump loses, Cruz can play the 'I told you so' card.
