I think the real problem is a corrupt left wing media and a lazy ignorant population willing to believe the lies being pushed by that corrupt left wing media.

GW was as much to blame for the financial collapse as you and I. Unlike you and I, W tried to get into FNMA to audit them, but was blocked by DODD & FRANK....That's right, the same two corrupt officials (Dodd was on the "Friends Of Angleo" list and Frank was schtuuping one the the Fanny big-wigs) that not only set up the collapse* but were then given responsibility to supposedly fix it. Unfortunately, our corrupt main stream media refused to tell the real story.....The result, ask the average schmuck on the street and they'll probably tell you that W caused the entire collapse.

*the repeal of Glass-Staegall---Nov 1, 1999 also played a huge roll.

zzfan, I think Vietnam was the turning point. Bad war, bad draft, the state killing protesting citizens, and the needless death. Many of those people are now in charge. I remember

walking through airports in my uniform and being called a baby killer. Saigon had fallen, but the wounds of that war were still very raw - and for many like me, STILL TODAY. That war, combined with the anger which finally spawned the civil rights movement (how the hell could our country let minorities suffer for so long is beyond me!) and the general free spirit of the sixties, formed the civic foundation of today.

9/11, for a short time, made us one nation. However, fifteen years removed, the Kardashians, rampant faux victimisation, and bathroom wars rule the day. I have just about stopped watching TV because it's too damn depressing. We are back to being the nation of "me".

BTW, I saw Charlie Daniels last Friday. The show was therapeutic! Next up should be Hank Jr. I recommend you book a show ASAP!
