Guys,
I have been asked to cover these events with rolling updates, by both people here and people here in the police community who look to GLP for updates. Yes, there are some very brave cops who use GLP!
This thread will simply focus on the news of what is happening and where. It is NOT a racist anti-black thread (I loathe racism!). It is also NOT an anti-cop thread - I am proud of my years in the UK police. It is also not a politics thread.
It is simply an emergency resource for people to turn to in order to keep SAFE away from attacks. It is an alert thread. I ask the mods (and I will myself) to keep this thread clean from any vitriol etc. If you want to debate the rights and wrongs of what is going on, please use another thread.
The situation is very serious and I am aware of FBI warnings for a number of locations today and in to this evening. If you are aware of an incident before me, please post them as they come in.
Again, this is all about keeping people safe and informed not about hurling abuse at anyone. The situation is all far to serious for that. I want this thread to keep people across the USA safe by having the knowledge of the danger spots and what is happening. Please respect that.
(incidentally, yes it affects me too! I am married to an american with family all over the USA and I have dual citizenship)
To make it absolutely clear yet again, this is a breaking events place for people to come to in order to get information of what is happening so they can be safe. The threat level for today is huge.
