About ten years ago I closed out my
Fidelity account and took my shares
of AT&T stock. I figured out that I
was not getting the dividends. They
retained $1.17 cents to keep the
account open.
How much do you think it costs to
pay someone to print out an account
and mail it to someone? I figure the
postage is .40, the envelope and paper
at least .20, and the employee's time
is $1.40 or more. So I figure it costs
Fidelity at least $2 a quarter or $8 a
year to keep my $1.17.
I laugh 4 times a year.
