That's politics. Not much can be done about that.
But when the head of an investigation (and as the head of the DOJ, Loretta Lynch is in that role) socializes or does business with an individual or spouse targeted in a DOJ investigation, it may very well be criminal.
The very BEST we can conclude is that Lynch showed terrible judgement and great incompetence. The reality, though, is that Loretta Lynch is not impartial. She is obliged to recuse herself from the investigation.
And despite today's words, she has NOT recused herself. She made an attempt today to quell a firestorm. If the FBI recommends indictment, then despite today's statement, she still has the option of refusing to do it and very well might. By then, this meeting between Bill and herself may have died from the public's consciousness.
She's probably right, too. Most of the public have a ten minute attention span. Just ask clo if she remembers the asinine judgement she passed on Dominique Strauss-Kahn four years ago. More than likely, she'll say "Who"?
Oh. Sorry. I forgot. You're one of those with whom clo is playing the "I'm not speaking to you!" game.
