Don't get me wrong. I think there ARE some valid conspiracies.
9/11 and the Kennedy assassination are both instances where my mind is not made up. Each has some really unusual circumstances that I just can't explain without assuming that there's more to the story. I'm nearly certain that Obama's birth certificate wasn't available for a year or more because there was no birth certificate.
And I am positive that there is a conspiracy among many of the world's most wealthy and powerful individuals to rob the western world of its wealth and freedom, securing it for themselves. However, even there, it needs to be understood that the vast majority of the people assisting in this crime are not complicit to the conspiracy itself. Many, like Mark Zuckerberg, are just idiots who are as brainwashed as the majority of the rest of us.
THAT SAID, most conspiracy theories are utter nonsense and should be treated as such. The best thing to do is to listen with an open mind, but then create an informed opinion and go with it. Is the conspiracy plausible? Is the standard explanation obviously flawed? Would there be a motive for the conspiracy, sufficient to justify the difficulty and risk of implementing it?
If things aren't heavily weighted on the side of conspiracy, we're best off assuming that the standard explanation is legitimate. MOST OF THE TIME, that will be the case. It's the way to bet.
