De, I don't know about the weeds in your
area but most of the weeds here retain
the water. If you try to mow too soon,
you have to stop every 20 feet and dig
the junk out of the mower. It is not any
fun leaning the mower over and scraping
it out. The riding mower is even worse.
Electric mower? You don't seem the type to let a little rain stand in the way when there's work to be done!
I've given some thought to what I'm going to do if a storm blows in when I'm working away from the house. In the hills, they can come in unexpectedly and really fast, so I'll put up a shelter or two. Tents don't hold up very well, though, and I have yet to see a shed that can keep spiders out, so I'm not sure what I'll do. Maybe I could just keep it well stocked.
