A while back, I read a farcical article about all the things that could potentially happen now that precedent has been set for men to identify as women. I wrote to the author and told him that he'd missed one: Boys who refuse to sign up for the Selective Service (the draft) because they identify as women, at least some of the time.

He wrote me back. It turns out, he hadn't missed it at all:

Now you are going to get it. “The House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday approved by a narrow margin an amendment to a defense bill to require women to register for the draft.”

I was in DC yesterday and stood in front of the capitol building for a few minutes. Made me want to vomit or swear. I try never to do both, but the urge was great. I’m glad I didn’t hear about this latest outrage yesterday or I might have done both.
