The message below, written by a gay friend of mine (I met him on Saturday though I've known his "husband" since December), is revealing.

While I sympathize with what he's going through and recognize that perhaps he's not thinking straight because of it, it's discouraging to see how he moves to capitalize on the tragedy, perhaps not even knowing that he's doing it. It should be obvious that he's lashing out at the wrong people.

Pinning the blame on Republicans is pathetic but it shows the skewed thinking that is prevalent among liberals today. I wish I could say it was only him, but I'm seeing similar things all over the place... and, of course, it's indicative of the missing critical thinking skills that foster liberalism. "Can't see the forest for the trees" - that's today's liberals!

The bottom line is that EVEN TO THEIR OWN DETRIMENT, liberals are going to remain loyal to the Democrats. Such stupidity. We see it in the Jewish constituency that remains fiercely loyal to a party that clearly despises Israel, and we're seeing it here in a gay man's refusal to recognize that he's being targeted for death by protected members of his own party. Islam needs to be recognized as a political movement that is incompatible with western culture and a deadly threat. Muslims need to go. Unless and until that is done, violence will continue - because Muslims are about the LEAST TOLERANT class of people existing in the world today.

The Florida terrorism is an example of one liberal faction (Muslims) being intolerant toward another (gays) in the deadliest of ways. Islam is at war with the west, but ESPECIALLY with homosexuals. I'd say that Democrats have a real problem on their hands. I wonder how long until they buck up and deal with it instead of seeking their usual scapegoats.

I am devastated to my soul. Chris and I had our going away party at Pulse the night before we moved back to PA from Orlando. We visited it regularly whenever we returned and had many a fun night with friends there over the years. My Aunt Dinah lives walking distance from it and is so overwhelmed today by this and all the helicopters and activity around her house that I wish I could go get her. We or any of our friends could have been there last night celebrating pride. All of my friends have checked in, thank God. I am heartbroken for those who were there and heartbroken that we will never be able to return to it the same. An American citizen, under watch of the FBI legally purchased a semi-automatic weapon and was able to obliterate a mass of people before anyone who may have been carrying for protection could have defended themselves. Even if he was allegiant to an extremist Islamic terrorist group, this was still a hate crime against the gay community and I can feel the hate over a thousand miles away. I feel the hate in the absence of mentioning the LGBT community in conservative and Republican commentary. They align with the shooter by not aligning with us. Even being out and about today I was more aware of PDA and on edge wondering if DC pride or my husband and I might be attacked next. I am grateful for all the straight allies who are donating blood, but the fact that I'm not allowed to donate adds salt to the wound of systemic LGBT-phobia in our country. If we ban all Muslims and build big walls, we continue to make it about us vs. them ... There is no chance then for any kind of understanding on a human level... No chance to get to know each other and battle hate and extremism and evil together as a human family. Please don't talk about fearing anyone taking your guns when we just had someone take the lives of our fellow humans because they are LGBT. Instead, take a stand against hate and LGBT-phobia by showing love even to "the gays." Let the radicals know we stand together and support each other as humans even when we disagree politically. We are all one human family. We are all one American family. We are all one Orlando family. We are all one gay family.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
